How good are you at taking just 60 mins each day to focus on yourself and your wellbeing

Last week I posed a question on LinkedIn.. I asked "out of the 1440 minutes there are in a day, how good are you at taking just 60 to focus on yourself and your wellbeing?". More than 100 people voted and the results are in...

Whilst the results show that taking time to focus on wellbeing is sometimes prioritised, they show that over 80% of you who responded, are not truly prioritising time for yourselves and your wellbeing on a daily basis. When we ask this question in our RESET programmes with clients, we get a similar response. There is a resounding realisation of the benefits of taking some time out in the working day, but putting it into practice takes discipline and requires building new habits. It also requires support so with many of our clients we get them to support and encourage each other to change their behaviour and incorporate some ‘me time’ at the beginning, during or end of the working day.

Life will always be busy. Personal and professional obligations will forever challenge our ability to make time for ourselves... there's no denying that. We do however, have to get better at taking back some control. My provocation to you is to start diarising taking 60 minutes for your wellbeing in a day. This 60 minutes does not need to be taken all at once, but by carving out the time to focus on yourself, you will feel more energised and be more productive at work.

Try this for a month and let me know the difference it makes...
