My Twelve Days of wellbeing & performance Calendar

I can’t quite believe that Christmas is nearly here. I don’t feel ready for it all, although I’m looking forward to the rest.

 But, to celebrate the coming holidays, I thought I’d do a (slightly belated) Advent Calendar with a difference. Twelve top wellbeing tips between now and when we all clock off. My twelve days of Christmas if you like.

 And on the first day of Christmas, my love for wellbeing said to me. Think not of how busy you are but how much impact you’re having. Let me explain. Wellbeing is partly driven by our sense of autonomy and control. And the best way to feel in control is to create the right balance between your busy zone and your impact zone. Most people I see spend 80% of their time in the busy zone. Most people who feel in control spend 80% of their time in the impact zone. In other words, they have worked out how and where they can make the biggest difference and they focus most of their time there. It’s one of the things that separates the good from the great in leaders I know.

 So, once your Christmas Pudding has finally digested and you sit down to write your 2022 plan, make sure 80% of it is in your impact zone. You’ll achieve more, be a better support to everyone around you and you’ll be helping your wellbeing too.
