About Cat George
I am a clinical psychologist specialising in working with individuals who present with complex mental health difficulties. I have experience working across the lifespan including delivering individual, couple, family and team-based psychological interventions. I currently work across two community services which focus on promoting recovery and rehabilitation for individuals who experience psychosis within Camden and Islington NHS Foundation trust. I am passionate about helping to reduce an individual’s psychological distress and improve their quality of life and wellbeing. I have experience working in different settings and applying psychological interventions to promote positive and desired goals. When delivering psychological interventions, I focus on developing a collaborative therapeutic relationship to help build a shared understanding of any difficulties, alleviate symptoms, enhance resilience, and promote recovery and improved wellbeing. My clinical interests include psychosis, attachment, the impact of adverse events (such as childhood traumas), difficulties with dissociation and emotion regulation. I also have a strong interest in the promotion of wellbeing in teams and wider organisations, and am actively involved in this alongside my day-today work. I believe allowing team’s safe places to be open and curious about any difficulties can help improve team cohesion and solution focused thinking, along with promoting wellbeing, resilience and overall effectiveness. I am able to offer consultation spaces, reflective practice, supervision and training. I have experience in strategic management and service development. My expertise includes leading on quality improvement projects, providing consultation and reflective practice to teams, supervising others, delivering tailored training programs, developing and implementing organisational support frameworks and advising on future work streams.
